I've just started 10th Legion Battle Born by Ben Soden.

Ben is an ex Royal Green Jacket, he has tried to draw comparison with modern day soldiers who's experiences don't often get told but the banter and p155 taking, being cold, wet and tired have probably always been the same.

Just started Washingtons Spies by Alexander Rose. So far, Very Good.

I chose it because Rose's Biographical novel of John Adams (a personal Hero of mine) was fucking amazing...

'Unbreakable' and 'The Railway Man' - similar themes but both astonishing and both are essential reading

Re: BOOK THREAD - weccomendations
I did Rogue Male for o level English literature back in 1984 but I didn't appreciate it till I re read it.

I also re read autobiography of a supertramp which was also excellent.

Not a novel but 'Nothing to Envy' by Barbara Demick. It's about North Korea and COULD be a novel it's so chilling.

Yeah, he was in marketing at London records in the mid 1990s. Most of the characters exist and much of what they do in the book is not too far off.
